The presence and persistence of ethnic groups have allowed perpetuate
the cultural heritage of the Maya, Tsotsils, Tseltals and Lacandons. Part of
their cultural contribution is reflected in the diverse gastronomy and
indigenous crafts such as textile articles of embroidery, skirts, blankets,
coats, wool jackets, plus wrought iron work, amber carvings and pottery, among
other products.
